Built around a 256×192 VOx thermal sensor with 12 µm pixel pitch and ≤18 mK NETD, the DRACO D225-4K excels at detecting subtle heat differences, allowing reliable identification of animals, people and objects at distances of up to 1,300 m. The 25 mm thermal lens provides a balanced field of view with a base magnification ideal for scanning, while digital zoom enables closer inspection when required.

Alongside the thermal channel sits a 4K (3840×2160) digital day/night sensor, delivering sharp detail and natural colour by day and a clear monochrome image after dark. Automatic day/night switching ensures seamless performance as light levels change, while the included 850 nm IR illuminator enhances visibility in near-total darkness. A 940 nm IR illuminator is available separately for users who require reduced infrared signature.

All imagery is viewed through a 0.49-inch Full HD OLED display paired with a high-magnification ocular lens, creating an immersive binocular-style viewing experience. Pixfra’s PIPS 3.0 AI image processing enhances clarity, contrast and stability across both thermal and digital channels, while electronic image stabilisation and defog mode maintain a clear, steady image in challenging weather.

The DRACO D225-4K features a built-in laser rangefinder with up to 1,000 m range, adding precise distance measurement for fieldcraft and planning. Its magnesium-alloy housing offers excellent durability while keeping weight to a manageable 600 g-class, supported by an ergonomic grip and a multi-function control wheel with four-button layout that mirrors traditional binocular operation for intuitive, eyes-on control.

Designed for extended use, the unit delivers up to 9 hours of runtime on removable 18650 batteries and supports flexible charging via USB-C, power banks or external battery charging. Dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) enables stable live streaming and file transfer to a mobile app, while 64 GB of internal storage allows easy recording of photos and video in the field.
